Blanche M. Badger, 62, of Mulberry Street, died at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Blanche enjoyed crocheting and won several blue ribbons at the county 4-H fair. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing cards and dominoes and listening to country music as well as watching professional wrestling and soap operas. She was also a Chicago Cubs and Indianapolis Colts fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
Born in Louisville, Ky., Sept. 28, 1949, Mrs. Badger was the daughter of John William McFarland and Jessie Mae Tate McFarland. She married John W. Badger May 27, 1977.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Michael A. (Charlotte) McFarland of Columbus, Indiana, and Bryan K. (Candice) McFarland of Orleans, Indiana; a daughter, Johnna M. Badger of Columbus, Indiana; stepdaughters, Debra A. Sturdavent of Salem, Indiana, Jackie R. Journell of Salem, Indiana, and Nancy J. Siezmore of Pekin, Indiana; grandchildren, Michael, Stephen, Zackery, Joey and John McFarland, Christopher and Jacob Taylor, Natasha and Brandon Brooks, Christopher and Whitney Journell, Candice Sturdavent, Katie Taylor and Cheyenne Tuell; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Alex Taylor, Braydon K. McFarland and Daniel Livers; a brother, John D. (Terri) McFarland of Columbus, Indiana; sisters, Barbara A. (Darrell) Day of Columbus, Indiana, Sherry J. (Ken) Stansel of Texas and Pam S. (Chris) Reed of Springs, Texas; her best friend, Elaine Worton of Columbus, Indiana; and her four-legged companion, Molly.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Terry W. McFarland.
FUNERAL: noon Friday, June 22, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
CALLING: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until service time Friday.
ENTOMBMENT: Garland Brook Mausoleum.
