Laverne B. Wilson, 73, of Maple Street, died at 2:39 pm. Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Laverne attended Lowell General Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed her flower garden and watching birds. She enjoyed dancing, singing, and bowling.
Laverne was born Aug. 7, 1938 in Barren County, Ky., the daughter of Marshall and Magdalene Eudy Byrd. She married James F. Wilson Nov. 7, 1953. He preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 2007. Survivors include sons, Terry Wilson of Akron, Ohio, Stevan Wilson of North Vernon, and Christopher (Laurel) Wilson of Columbus; grandchildren Christy, Daniel, Stephanie, Mistie, Preston, Joshua, and Cheyenne; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Ashley, Tyler, Jayon, Shayla, Dalton, and Kaitlyn; brothers, Bud, Harold, and Tommy; sisters, Alveda, Mary, Emmer, and Ann.
Laverne was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Martin; brothers James and Don; and sisters Betty, Jenni, Ruby, and Suzy.
SERVICES:
FUNERAL: 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2001 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Revs. Glenn Poynter and Ronnie Hampton officiating.
VISITATION: 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2011 and from noon until service time Sunday.
BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS:
May be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American lung Association.

Love you mom. I sure am grateful you were my mother.
I met Laverne while she was in the hospital and she pulled my heart stings from the day I meet her,I loved her smile and she was a sweet lady.I will always remember her!

Shirley sorry to hear about Laverne, i know she had been sick for a long time. But now she with her family in heaven . I remember her buying Mary Kay from me years ago when i visited her to deliver products, always so nice and friendly. She will be missed . Gina
