Evelyn Mae Dillow May 07, 1926 - September 01, 2010 Evelyn Mae Manlief Dillow, 84, of Greensburg, died at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mrs. Dillow retired as a deputy matron at Decatur County Jail where she served under Sheriffs Larry D. Snyder and Ralph Meer. Before moving into Greensburg, she had lived most of her life on a farm in Decatur County and enjoyed playing bingo and listening to country music. Evelyn enjoyed flowers, gardening and canning, as well as sewing and quilting. When she was younger, Evelyn played the steel guitar for a Hawaiian musical group in Columbus. Born in North Vernon May 7, 1926, Mrs. Dillow was the daughter of Harvey S. and May Roscoe Grow. She is survived by a son, Steve C. Manlief of Vernon; daughters, Jeanette S. Snyder of Columbus and Shirley A. Reed of McKee, Ky.; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a brother, James H. Grow of Reno, Nev. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard L. Grow, Hiram Grow, William C. Grow and Donald E. Grow; sisters, Helen L. Sullivan and Sadie B. Shireman and an infant sister, Mary Alice Grow; and a grandson Steve R. Manlief. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Saturday, September 4, at Garland Brook Mausoleum with the Rev. Dennis Aud officiating. CALLING: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 3, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the mausoleum.
