James Charles Werner November 09, 1946 - August 06, 2010 James Charles Werner, 63, of Columbus, died at 4:10 p.m. Aug. 6, 2010 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. James graduated from Greensburg High School in 1965 and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree from Ball State University in 1971 and a Masters Degree from Indiana University in 1976. James was a teacher for the Edinburgh School Corporation from 1971-74. He then was employed for Elec Business Machines in sales from 1974-78. James worked in the OCU & mechanical engineering field with Cummins Engine Company from 1978 until his retirement in 2006. He was a veteran of the Indiana National Guard and a member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church. Born Nov. 9, 1946 in Greensburg, James was the son of Joe and Dorothy (Reckeweg) Werner. Survivors include his daughter, Kristi (Edward) Judson, of Franklin; partner Cheryl Powell, of Columbus; sister, Bonnie (Ralph) Werner Hodapp, of Greensburg; grandson Joseph Judson; nephew, David (Kathy) Hodapp, of Columbus; niece, Susan Hodapp, of Chicago, Ill. His parents and son Brad Werner preceded him in death. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sandy Hook United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Russell officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. BURIAL: will be at St. George Cemetery. Donations Information MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riley Childrens Foundation, 30 S. Meridian St., Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46204-3509.
