Clifton E. Johnson December 19, 1936 - May 02, 2010 Clifton E. Gene Johnson, 73, of Columbus, died Saturday, May 1, 2010, at his home. Mr. Johnson retired from Arvin Industries. He was an extremely avid NASCAR fan and loved fishing, hunting and playing and coaching softball. He loved spending time with his family and friends and feeding his squirrels. Born in Clay County, Tenn., Dec. 19, 1936, Mr. Johnson was the son of Charlie Wooten Johnson and Rentha Moline Trobaugh Johnson. He is survived by daughters, Barbara Tuttle, Kim (Dwayne) Jeffries, Dawn (Mike) Lee and Sonnie (David) Wood, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Ryan (Liz) Jeffries, Rachel Jeffries, Nikki Whittington, Paige Lucas, Ben (Jessi) Wood and Adam Wood; great-grandchildren, Evan Lee, Mackenzie Mathis, Logan Wood and Lily Wood; a brother, Charles H. (Romona) Johnson of Westport; a sister, Emogene Rouse of Greenwood; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, H.B. Johnson; and a great-grandson, Christian Lucas. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastors Brian Buterbaugh and Rick Leonard officiating. CALLING: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
