Edward Bickel February 23, 2010 Edward D. Bickel, 74, of Royal Street, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Edward graduated from Coalmont High in 1953 and had lived in Columbus for approximately 50 years. He was a member of East Columbus Christian Church and Scout Master for Hoosier Hills Troop No. 64, Boy Scouts of America. His favorite activities were fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a life member of International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers and a member of the 25/4 Local Union of Brickmasons and International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local No. 4 of Indiana and Kentucky. He was a field representative for 5 years and a bricklayer apprentice instructor. Born in Clay County June 7, 1935, Mr. Bickel was the son of Laymon and Thelma Loden Bickel He married Joan Bledsoe July 9, 1954. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Mark (Kathleen) Bickel of Kent, Wash.; daughters, Julie (Tom) Bolenbaugh of Columbia, Tenn., and Bethann (Richard) Lehman of Columbus; grandchildren, Erik (Scarlett) Bolenbaugh, K. Edward Bolenbaugh, Christopher Lehman and Cory Lehman; and a great-grandson, C.J. Bolenbaugh. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral Information At Mr. Bickel's request, private inurnment will be at a later date. Donations Information Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
