William W. Mahoney July 14, 1929 - December 16, 2009 William Waller Bill Mahoney, 80, of Home Avenue died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at his home. Mr. Mahoney retired from Arvin Industries after many years of service. He attended St. Meinrad High School, graduated from Indiana University, with a bachelors degree in business administration, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. A member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, he also was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1414 and was a Past Grand Knight. He was a basketball coach, a lifelong Dodgers fan and an avid golfer. Born in Columbus July 14, 1929, Mr. Mahoney was the son of John A. and Mary Waller Mahoney. He married Carolyn Carpenter June 17, 1961. Survivors include his wife; sons, William Allen Mahoney and spouse Melissa of Columbus and Sean Eric Mahoney of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Meryn, Patrick and Sean Mahoney of Columbus and Luca Mahoney of Denver, Colo.; a brother, John Buck Mahoney of Sun City West, Ariz.; and a sister, Jane Durbin of Oak Ridge, Tenn. Funeral Information Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Clem Davis officiating. CALLING: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and a Rosary service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
