Virginia Pearl Bay October 04, 1926 - March 21, 2009 Virginia Pearl Bay, 82, of Jonesville Road, Columbus, Ind., died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at 4:30 p.m. at her home. Mrs. Bay was a member of Berean Bible Church. Pearl was very proud of he husbands employment with the Columbus Fire Department where he was an Assistant Fire Chief. He retired in 1970 after 23 years of service. Mrs. Bay was born October 4, 1926, in Abilene, Texas, the daughter of Clifton Marvin and Annie Lou Kemper Borden. She married Floyd Earl Bay June 9, 1945. Survivors include sons, Floyd David (Janet) Bay of Columbus, Ind. and Scott N. (Melissa) Bay of Columbus, Ind.; daughters, Dianna M. Manns of Seymour, Ind., Brenda S. (Larry) Fisher of Columbus, Ind.; Nancy J. (Jeff) Griffin of Lawrenceville, Ga. and Cythanie A. Cyndi (Paul) Duncan of Columbus, Ind.; sisters, Margaret Waggoner of Redding, Calif., Lucille Valentine of Virginia Beach, Va. and Polly Grant of Canyon Country, Calif.; grandchildren, Dawn M. Lockhard, James Steelman, David F. Manns, Misty Burton, Michael Bay, Patrick Bay, Jack Fisher, Laura Fisher, Katrina Wright, Emily Wright, Rosanna Davis, Jessica Smith, Zachary Duncan, Nicholas Duncan, Erica Bay and Kristen Bay; great-grandchildren, Christopher Lockhard, Heather Lockhard, Matthew Lockhard, Emma Steelman, Luke Steelman, Leanna Steelman, Daniel Steelman, Ashton Thomas, Tyler Thomas, Justin Burton, Cameron Humbert and Thomas Humbert; and a great-great-grandchild, Kaden Swindol. Mrs. Bay was preceded in death by her husband in May 1975; sisters, Mildred Jo Peterson, Marie Pruitt and Faye Olson; a brother, Jack K. Borden; and grandchildren, Staci and Traci Bay. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Day Sr. officiating. VISITATION: 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services, all at the funeral home. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
