Mary passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 11, 2009 at the family home on Washington Street in Columbus.
She was born in Fostoria, Ohio, the daughter of Edna and Charles Crocker.
Mary graduated Cum Laude from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio with a Liberal Arts Degree.
She was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She was a 51-year member of the First United Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and as a Sunday school teacher for 25 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a United Way active member for many years. A member of the Magazine Club of Columbus, she was also chairperson and a member of many service organizations which helped people in need.
She volunteered for any cause where there were people who needed her help and leadership. She was loved and respected by everyone who knew her.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Herschel OShaughnessey. Son, Michael OShaughnessey of Carmel, Indiana. Daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Phil (Patty) Adler of Terre Haute, Indiana; Mr. and Mrs. John (Nancy) Wagner of St. Louis, Mo. Other survivors include many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all the members of the Cummins family, all the members of the First United Presbyterian Church, and all the members of the world who knew her and loved her.
Funeral Information
SERVICE: A Memorial Service for Mary OShaughnessey will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the First United Presbyterian Church, 7th and Franklin Streets, Columbus, Indiana. A reception will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church following the service.
