Donald R. Lucas March 21, 1925 - December 28, 2007 Donald R. Lucas, 82, of Sherwood Lane, died at 12:07 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at Hickory Creek of Columbus. Mr. Lucas retired from Cummins Engine Co. after 37 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a 50 year member of Hope Masonic Lodge #150. He was a member of the VFW, the Moose, the Eagles, American Legion and the Diesel Workers Union. Mr. Lucas was born March 21, 1925 in Bartholomew County, the son of Howard and Edna L. Lucas. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Lucas; a son, Roger O. Lucas of Columbus; a daughter, J. Denise Hill of Columbus; a stepdaughter, Pam Pattingill of Taylorsville; a brother, Keith Lucas of Hope. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Estelline Lucas; brothers, Cleo and Milo Lucas and sisters, Lovena Crain and Verena Lucas. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Barbara Grace officiating. VISITATION: Will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. BURIAL: Will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
