Richard L. Dickie Morris, 65, of Keller Avenue died at 12:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at his home.
Mr. Morris was a 1960 graduate of Edinburgh High School and a former employee of Golden Casting and Arvin Industries. He was in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1963 and served off the coast of Cuba from 1962 to 1963 during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
A member of Lowell General Baptist Church, he was a Colts fan and enjoyed fishing and his pets.
Born in Bartholomew County Aug. 4, 1942, Mr. Morris was the son of John and Evelyn Hogan Morris. He married Carolyn Sue Scrogham March 20, 1965.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Tim (Monica) Morris and Tommy (Susan) Morris, both of Columbus, Richard Morris, David Morris and Kevin (Sonya) Morris, all of Edinburgh; daughters, Janice Ford of Columbus and Lora Pendleton of North Vernon; several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Thomas Morris; and a brother, James Morris.
Funeral Information
VISITATION:Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon until service time Thursday.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating.
BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery
