Louann Burris April 22, 1917 - December 10, 2006 Louann Granny Burris, 89, of Midway Street died at 8:05 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mrs. Burris was of the Baptist faith and loved to play bingo. Born in Adair County, Ky., April 22, 1917, Mrs. Burris was the daughter of William Thomas and Josephine Farris Cowan. She married Finis Edgar Burris in 1938. He preceded her in death July 5, 1985. Survivors include a son, William Logan (Mary) Burris of Columbus; daughters, Geneva (Jack) Hadley of Hope, Jean Eakle of Columbus, Bertha (Harold) Bailey of Edinburgh and Faylene King of Hope; 31 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Ira Cowan of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Roberts; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five brothers. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Revs. Clifton Cowan and Lewis Burton officiating. VISITATION: Will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
