Nelson Worton November 30, 1935 - November 02, 2006 Nelson L. Worton, 69, of Midway Street died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at Columbus Health & Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Worton lived his early life in Indianapolis and grew up in Brown County. During his military service, he was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and Fort Polk, La., moved to Ohio for a few years after leaving the military, then moved back to Columbus where he was employed by National Ice for several years. He was a member of First Christian Church. Born in Indianapolis Nov. 30, 1935, Mr. Worton was the son of Otis Worton and Helen Gibson Campbell. He is survived by his former wife, Syliva Wells Worton; sons, Tony Worton II of Columbus and Tony L. Worton I of Kansas; daughters, Sherry and Teresa Worton, both of Ohio; a stepdaughter, Pamela Wells of Columbus; brothers, Jack Worton of Columbus and Richard Worton of Florida; sisters, Roberta McQueen and Barbara Hoover, both of Columbus; grandchildren, including Chloe Worton of Arizona and Tyrum Starks of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Bob, Thomas and Jessie Worton. Funeral Information SERVICES: Graveside Service 11:00 A.M. Monday; November 6, 2006 at Garland Brook Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard. VISITATION: 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery Donations Information MEMORIALS: American Lung Association.
