Glen Richard Salmons, 75, of Hope, died at 12:20 p.m. April 16, 2019, at Miller's Merry Manor. Glen was born August 1, 1943, in Tipton, Indiana, the son of Warren G. and Shirley K. Lightfoot Salmons.  He married Charlotte K. Mitchell September 5, 1965. He retired from Reliance Electric after 38 years of service and was a member of New Hope Christian Church for 42 years. Glen really loved fishing, hunting and being in the outdoors. He also loved spending time with his family. The funeral will be conducted at 11a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with John Sichting officiating. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with military honors presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; son, Timothy G. Salmons of Indianapolis and daughter, Christy Sue (Brian) Campbell of Columbus; brother, Robert (Ellen) Salmons of  North Carolina, and a sister, Kay (Don) Buzzard of Columbus; and grandchildren, Dakota, Kelsey, Heather and Kylie Altepeter. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Phillip Joe Salmons.

  1. Glen u were a big part of why I loved my job..u made me smile every morning walking in saying Glenny Pool Poo.. U will always be Sophia’s papa Gen…she loves u and momma.. Not a minute goes by I don’t look outside and up at the sun while it’s shinning and smile knowing ur somewhere fishing on the sun..I love u Glen…and no this isn’t goodbye..I know ur still with Sophia

  2. I loved taking care of Glen and Charlette when I worked at Millers Merry Manor. He will be missed by so many, what a wonderful man. My condolences to the family

  3. My prayers be with you and the family. I’m thankful for when Glen was put into my life, he taught me so much when I was taking care of him at Miller’s Merry Manor. He would always tell the greatest of family stories and how life was so great. He taught me to be better at life with smiles and that a smile could do wonders, he always missed fishing with family, he also told me how much him and the Mrs. Always kept each other on there toes away back in the day and how much he loves his wife and family he was thankful for. He will forever be a part of everyone’s lives he touched will he was with us. May he never be forgot and my his after life live on through us. May he be in the great hands and rest in peace. And may the family have many prayers and thankfulness for the man we all met that changed lives as he kept fighting. May he rest in peace in the wonderful after life. He is forever in our hearts. Thank you.
