Doris Demaree, age 77, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away at 3:44 a.m. Tuesday March 12, 2019 in Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born March 23, 1941 in Milan, Indiana to the late Robert and Thora Liggett. She married Charles L. Demaree on August 16, 1965 and he survives. Doris was a school teacher in Indiana prior to raising her family and was a devoted and proud mother and wife. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday March 15, 2019 in Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. David Blystone officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in memory of Doris. Doris is survived by her husband, Charles; sons John (Kaya) Demaree of Libertyville, Illinois and Andrew (Alyssa) Demaree of Noblesville, Indiana; a sister, Brenda (Bill) Champine of Columbus; a brother Roger (Mariellen) Liggett of Crown Point, Indiana and 3 grandchildren, Lauren Demaree, Mark Demaree and Josh Lovett.
