Randle Kent Sanders

Randle Kent “Randy” Sanders, 65, of Columbus, passed away March 5, 2019, at Compass Park in Franklin. Born June 21, 1953, in Hutchinson, Kansas, Randy was the first son of Leroy and Marna Pauls Sanders. Randy attened Scipio School through the 8th grade and graduated in 1971from Jennings County High School in North Vernon where he lettered in basketball and baseball. He also organized and played in several “garage bands” during and after his high school years. Randy enlisted in the Navy in 1971 and has always been proud of the opportunity to serve his great country. He often told stories of travelling the world and being in the Vietnam Theater. He married Maureen Devlin in San Diego in 1974. In the years following they travelled around this country volunteering for a Biblical Outreach Ministry and were blessed with three children. Randy enjoyed being employed in the construction trades, working in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, South Carolina, Arizona and Arkansas. A memorial service will be held at Ogilville Christian Church at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Randy is survived by his children, Carly (Bryan) Berryman of Aliso Viejo, California, Matt Sanders of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Kristen Laine of Woodbridge, Virginia; his mother, Marna of North Vernon; brothers, Rik (Kathy) Sanders of Columbus, Ron (Angie) Sanders of North Vernon, Rodney (Ronda) Sanders of North Vernon, Roger (Kristi) Sanders of Franklin and a sister, Tammy (Dan) Hill of North Vernon; sisters-in-law, Pam Sanders of Indianapolis and Jill Sanders of North Vernon; ex-wives, Peggy Janes Sanders of North Vernon and Maureen Devlin Spokes of Charlottesville, Virgina; and his besfriend, “Buddy.” He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy; and brothers, Rex G. I always loved my little conversations with Randy. The sound of his laugh! Makes me smile. Hugs for his beautiful children and prayers for all the family.🙏
