John L. Havron, 85, of Seymour, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at Seymour Crossing. John was born June 1, 1933 in Columbus to Clyde Charles Havron and Margaret Kohler Havron. He married Wildena L. Maggard on October 30, 1954. John was a marine veteran serving from 1951-1953. He was a steam fitter with the local 440 union for 50 years. He was an avid music lover and loved to play the guitar, sing and vintage cars. He enjoyed collecting knives, guns and spending the last 20 winters in Florida. He had a great sense of humor and loved to share a joke. Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Blomenberg officiating. Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. until service time on Tuesday. A private family inurnment will take place at Garland Brook Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice of charity. Survivors include his sons, Charles D. (Debbie) Havron and Donald Havron both of Seymour; daughter, Cheri Havron Fox of Seymour; grandchildren, Chris (Summer) Havron, Jessica (Steve) Ruble and Jonnie B. (Davin Greenwell) Fox; great grandchildren, Nola Ruble, Anna Ruble, Westen Havron, Grayson Havron and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wildena on May 6, 2009; brother, James Marshall Havron; sister, Mary Kathryn Fletcher and an infant sister.
