Renate Herber

Renate Herber (Renny), 81, joined her husband in Heaven on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at her home in Columbus. Renny was born on March 15, 1937, to Wilhelm and Hedwig Döring in Berlin, Germany. She married Hubert Herber on September 21, 1963. They were married 55 years when he preceded her in death on November 10, 2018. Renate met her husband Hubert, in a French language class in Paris, France, and followed Hubert to the United States where they were married and had four children. Renate was a homemaker and loved her family, friends and pets dearly. A funeral mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Clement T. Davis officiating.  Calling will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church. A private burial will follow the service. Survivors include: son, Ron Herber (Petra) of Memphis, TN, daughter, Kristina Shures of Glen Ellyn, IL, daughter, Ingrid Lee (Dan) of Covington, WA, son, Jason Herber (Pam) of Yorkville, IL; sisters-in-law, Teresa Davis and Gertrude Herber, both of Fort Wayne, IN and brother-in-law, Charles Herber of Lafayette, IN; grandchildren, Sydney Shures, Ryan Pursel (Laura), Brandon Pursel (Annie), Jacki Pursel; great-grandchildren, Hayden and Hannah Pursel; and many nieces and nephews. Renate was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 17th St. Columbus, IN 47201.

Oh my goodness… so sad that Renny is not with us here on earth. Â Huge praises that she is at peace in heaven with her sweet husband and all of those who passed before her. Â Friends and family will miss Renny so much!
