Nellie Mae Thompson Rager Nellie Mae Rager, 89, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Columbus Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center. Nellie was born January 14, 1930. She married James Rager on January 4, 1952, and he preceded her in death July 2, 2014. They had one daughter, Janelle, who preceded Nellie in death March 10, 2015. She is survived by her church family. Nellie was a faithful member of East Columbus United Methodist Church where she had received perfect attendance pins for 50 years and loved to teach the children’s Sunday school class for many years. A graveside service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Garland Brook Cemetery Mausoleum with the Rev. Charles Aigner officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to East Columbus United Methodist Church or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Special thanks to Columbus Transitional Care and Our Hospice of South Central Indiana for the good care they gave Nellie.

Mrs. Rager taught me in Sunday school at ECUM many years ago. She was a blessing to so many and guided so many children in the right direction. Her kindness, devotion and love for all will never be forgotten. May our Heavenly Father hold her close.
