Dearl Thompson

Dearl Thompson, 83, of Columbus, died at 10:40 a.m. December 18, 2018, at Silver Oaks Health Campus. Dearl was born October 12, 1935, in Carrolton, Kentucky, the son of Donley and Ruth Hall Thompson. He lived most of his adult life in California and enjoyed fishing. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Lee officiating. Calling will be 2 p.m. until service time Friday.Memorials may be made to the donor's choice of charity in Dearl’s memory.Survivors include his son, Tony Thompson of Kentucky and daughters, Rena Stokes of Georgia and Peggy Hynes of Columbus; brothers, Gearl Thompson of Carrolton, Kentucky, and Donald Thompson of Columbus; a sister, Evelyn J. Moore of Columbus; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John T. Thompson, Paul “Jack” Collins Thompson and Fred Thompson; and a sister, Melvina Shackleford.
