Carolyn J. Smith

Carolyn J. Smith, 73, of Columbus, died at 8:05 a.m., December, 7, 2018, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home. Carolyn was born March 19, 1945 in Columbus, the daughter of William and Ruth E. (Schafer) Huntington.   Carolyn was a member of the East Columbus Christian Church. She graduated from Columbus North High School.  Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. The funeral will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 11th  at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Bridgewater officiating . Calling will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10th at the funeral home with one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, American Diabetes Association and the East Columbus Christian Church through the funeral home. Survivors include her daughters; Debbie Redicker of Columbus, Melissa (Tom) Oritz of Clarksville, TN.; grandchildren, Erica Smith, Tasha Ware, Michael Ware and Michelle (Eugene) Choate. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother William E. Huntington.
