Dorothy M. Garris-Fields

Dorothy M. Garris-Fields, 78, of Columbus, passed away November 16, 2018, at her home. Dorothy was born December 7, 1940 in Columbus, the son of Orville and Olga Stinson Jaggers. She married Tim L. Fields, who survives. Dorothy was a realtor for House and Home Realty for many years. She also was an entrepreneur, owning several businesses throughout her life. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, but she especially loved spending time with her family on houseboats.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed. The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday November 21, 2018 at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Allman officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana. Survivors include her husband Tim; sons Tony E. (Jill) Garris of Elizabethtown and Curtis D. (Paula) Garris of Columbus; a step-daughter Amanda Fields; grandchildren Jessica, Caleb, Katelin, Tiffany, Tyler, Emily, Shawn, and Jennifer; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother Roy Jaggers of Plant City, Florida; as well as a sister Rosemary (Dave) Fields of Sorresto, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Terry M. Garris; a granddaughter Samantha Garris; as well as a brother Donnie Jaggers.
