SERVICES:FUNERAL SERVICE: Will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Hurt officiating. VISITATION: Will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday. BURIAL: Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: May be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.Brittany Nicole Dewey, 26, of Dawson Street, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at I.U. Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis. She was born July 26, 1992, in Columbus, the daughter of David and Pennye Goldsmith Dewey. She loved spending time with her family, especially her son. Brittany was very astute, smart, and loved the holidays. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, animals, as well as doing cosmetics and styling hair.  Brittany was a wonderful daughter, mother, and sister, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Pennye (Tony) Goddard; companion, Jerry Watkins Jr. of Columbus; son, Jerry Watkins III of Columbus; brother, Josh V. (Heather Purvis) Dewey of Columbus; sisters, Tabitha M. (David) Carter of Columbus and Brana Goddard of Huntsville, Alabama; aunts, Trish (Dave) Miller of Franklin, Lisa Dewey of Indiana, Sherry Rubush of Edinburgh and Jamie Dewey of Bloomington; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, David Dewey.

So sorry bout brittney.i be keeping her family in my prayers.my heart goes out to her son bubby.to young to lose his mother.so sad.jr.penny.tony and the Watkins family.i know she will be greatly missed by her family n friends.prayers also go out to jerry.jr dad.n sisters crystal.n bonita.its just so sad she was to young to die.i lost my neice nono at 29yrs old.who left 2 little ones .so sorry.words cant Express the words of the hurt your going thru.i know I lost my parents n 2 brothers n my sister.the sadness never goes away.i sure be prayin for all her family.juanita davis

  3. So brittany no words can really explain how heartbreaking this is no one can answer the questions I have running through my mind why take u ur so young and beautiful. And I know we wasent close but did hangout a few times and I can say I’m am absoulty without a doubt heartbroken over this and to see your family in pain my nephews Connor and Ethan are a mess over your abstinence you will always be loved never forgotten fly high baby girl see you again one day. To all family I’m so sorry for your loss my prayers are with you.

  4. Missing you every day Daughter, You certainly did not deserve to go thru all the pain you had to endure. You certainly did not deserve to live in the conditions you did. It’s sad that the price paid was your life. Its sad you never got a chance to really be happy with someone who could show you what life really had to offer.

  5. I am so sorry to hear about this & I feel your pain. I’m sure Ryan met her with open arms as they were very close when younger.
