FUNERAL: Noon Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Tingle officiating. VISITATION: 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. BURIAL: Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery. Family and friends will share in memories and food after the burial.MEMORIALS: Donations may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Flora “Beth” Elizabeth Willis, 77, of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life to her eternal life at 6 a.m. October 19, 2018, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Flora was born July 13, 1941, in Petersburg, Indiana, the daughter of Robert and Olive Marie Selby Willis. Flora graduated in 1959 from Petersburg High School in Petersburg, Indiana, she later took classes at IUPUI in Columbus, Indiana. Flora worked as a legal secretary and most recently as a medical biller in Columbus, Indiana. She also sold her one-of-a-kind accessories to Jacobson’s in The Fashion Mall at Keystone, Indianapolis. But, what meant most to Flora were her children, her grandchildren and most of all her two great grandsons. Flora enjoyed decorating her home and working in her yard. Her greatest talent was as a seamstress. She also enjoyed watching pro football and college basketball especially at NCAA tournament time. She stayed up to date on politics, world events and continued to learn from the scriptures until her last days. The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Tingle officiating. Calling will be 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery. Family and friends will share in memories and food after the burial. Survivors include her children, Angela (Dr. Greg Brown) Floyd of Columbus, Anna (Doug) Pitkin of Huntington, West Virginia, and John Buchta of Columbus; brothers, Dewitt (Donna) Willis of Bedford, James Willis of Otwell, Indiana, and Alva (Ella) Willis of Ft. Branch, Indiana, and sisters, Marlene (Jim) Naylor of Columbus and Clare (Gary) Popp of Otwell, Indiana; grandchildren, Lauren Floyd, Rachel Floyd, Tanner (Tyler) Bowman, Taylor Pitkin, Emily Pitkin, William Pitkin and Jarod Buchta; great-grandchildren, Jackson Floyd and Wyatt Pitkin-Meehling; along with many nieces and nephews. Also, survived by her ex-husband Larry Buchta. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert “Dick” Willis, and sister, Wanna Day, Imalou Schwoob and Nila Woods. Flora was especially thankful for Dr. Albany and the nursing staff at Indiana University Hospital, doctors and nursing at CRH and Our Hospice of South Central Indiana for the care in which they so graciously gave her.
