Jody Ray Ballard, 68, of Central Avenue, died at 11:11 p.m. October 6, 2018, at his home. Jody was born November 21, 1949, in Glasgow, Kentucky, the son of Clyde and Blanche Hiser Ballard. He married Connie M. Wilson July 29, 1980. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Marcus Speer officiating. Calling will be 11 a.m. until service time Monday. Survivors include his wife, Connie M. Ballard; sons, Dirk (Janis) Ballard of Floyds Knobs and Michael Alexander of Columbus, and daughters, Season (Ryan Hoeltke) Ballard and Tina (Erik) Thompson, both of Columbus; a brother, Powell Ballard, and sisters, Judy (Don) Noel and Minnie (Gene) Roberts, all of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Wendell Ballard, and a sister, Beatrice Burton.

Im a friend and ex-coworker of Judys. We worked at Childrens Inc. Judy and were assigned the same class room. I always remembered that She would talk about her twin brother a lot. Always said he got the better look, just teasing of course. You are in my thoughts always Judy.

So sad my beautiful cuzz passed away.loved him like a brother we were raised together.he stayed lot nites st my house with my brothers james n shot davis.him and shot was really close.sad to sad jody found my brother dead at shot house.jody n david light found him.now jody n shot is together 4 ever n ever.in the arms of jesus.they truly wss mote lkke brothers.then first cousin.im glad I got to go see jody several times with minnie his sister.she was so close to jody.i wss there with minnie at Jody housr the nite he passed.she wss sitting there by him.i got to take some good pictures n videos of minnie n jody b4 he really got down.there priceless videos.and connie wss the best wife jody had.she stood by him thru thick n thin.til death fo us part.she was truly so good to jody.the best wife I’m just glad I got to be there the nite he passed.i haf wrnt wirh minnie.i love and will miss jody jusr knowing he no longer be here.like my family that has passed.im praying for connie. My dad Jerry always talked a lot about Jody..no telling what them 2 has done..he was always so nice to me and I love hearing the stories he would tell me about my daddy!! Rip Jody Ballard
