Ruth L. Collier

Ruth L. Collier, 99, of Columbus, passed away at 4:54 p.m. August 28, 2018, at Four Seasons Retirement Community. Ruth was born February 18, 1919, in West Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Aubrey Lunsford Yates and Emily McClane Yates.   She was previously employed at Cummins Credit Union and Switzer Credit Union.  Ruth was a member of the Bartholomew County Porcelain Artists Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a founding member of ZONTA International of Bartholomew County. A memorial gathering will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with friends and family sharing memories of Ruth.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ruth’s memory to ILC c/o Carol Montgomery 2530 Sandcrest Blvd. Suite A Columbus, IN 47203 or through the funeral home for the Bones for Life Program. Survivors include her daughter, Leigh Ann (Dick) Oney of Columbus; and grandchildren, Jennifer Oney of Columbus and John Oney of Birmingham, Alabama.
