SERVICES:  4 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. VISITATION:  1 p.m. until time of service Sunday at the funeral home. MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to the Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.Jeffrey A. Eggleston, 54, of Columbus, died at 7:30 a.m. April 26, 2018, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Jeff was born August 14, 1963, in Columbus, the son of Robert C. and Carolyn P. Berry Eggleston. He married Tammy J. Bowers January 25, 2006. Jeff owned his own machine shop, Southern Machine and Tool Works, L.L.C. He enjoyed riding his Harley, racing dirt bikes, playing the guitar, and restoring anything mechanical. He was a loving father and grandfather to his grandchildren. There was never a dull moment when Jeff was involved and was always willing to help others. The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Calling will be 1 p.m. until time of service Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Survivors include his wife, Tammy; mother, Carolyn P. Eggleston of North Vernon; son, Marc A. (Danielle) Eggleston of North Vernon; daughters, Jessica R. Eggleston, Heather N. Anderson and Chelsey K. (Ethan) Baugher, all of Columbus; brother, Dallas (Patty) Eggleston of Elizabethtown; sister, Terri Eggleston of North Vernon; and grandchildren, Adrienne, Kealy, Temprance, Malichi, Charlie, Quillen, Naomi, Soren and Kendall. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert.

  1. I am very sorry to hear about your loss. Jeff was a great guy. I went to school with Jeff and he did some work for me through the company I work for. I hope God can guide the family through this most difficult time. God bless his family and friends. Jeff will be missed.

  2. I am sorry to hear of this. Jeff’s dad and my dad Robie Beverly were friends through working at Cummins. I’ve known Jeff for a long time. Worked for him at QST’s NC location in Rocky Mount. Godspeed my friend.
