August 31, 1941 ~ April 16, 2018

Yes, you might know me… I’m your co-worker that always smiled and asked how are you. I’m the stranger that started talking to you while waiting in line at the store and left you with a smile.  Yes, that was I, holding up the line, talking away, and making new friends.  Yes, you might know me…  Often you would come to me with dilemmas of the heart and doubts of the mind seeking guidance. I always shared my worldly wisdom of just listening. Yes, you KNOW me… We were never strangers.   Ellen Charlene “Skip” Lewis, passed away on April 16, 2018, after bouts of cancer.  She was born August 31, 1941 in Shelbyville, IN, the daughter of Bernard and Nellie Pike.  Her most recent work was with Mill Race Senior Citizen Center and working part time for Kohl’s, that she really enjoyed. • I am so sorry for your loss. I just found out today that Skip had passed away. May God give you comfort and peace. I know you will be missed sorely by family and friends. Love and Hugs from your cousin Gloria Squires.

  1. Dear Charlene…you fought the fight your way, like you did everything. I’m sorry you didn’t let us gang together and tell stories, but you were the best at doing that. We were glad to spend some time with you last fall, I hope it helped you feel normal in the midst of all the abnormal. To your family, I was a senior center friend. You have my deepest sympathy on your loss. But one thing I know, she left you with lots of stories in addition to beaucoup love. May they ease the parting. We’ll miss you Charlene.
