Betty J. Campbell

Betty J. Campbell, 84, of Columbus, died at 8 p.m. April 8, 2018, at Keepsake Village. Betty was born March 19, 1934, in Cedar Hill, Tennessee, the daughter of Garlan and Enna Dyer Calvert. She married Donald D. Campbell December 26, 1951, and he preceded her in death on April 9, 1996. She previously worked for Dr. Harrison Lawyer and then worked for Dr. Scott Barrix until she retired at the age of 79. Betty was a fan of Jeff Gordon and NASCAR, and enjoyed attending the Brickyard every year since it began. She also enjoyed gardening and cookouts with her family, and loved traveling with her husband. Survivors include her sons, Gary B. (Beverly) Campbell of Morgantown and Donald D. (Kim) Campbell of Columbus; a sister, Sandy (Dallas) Ellis of Yorktown, Indiana; grandchildren, Harriet (Steven) Campbell Adams, Kyle (Shawn) Campbell Purvis, Jennifer (Chris) Crafton and Casey (Kira) Birdsong; and great-grandchildren, Marisa Adams, Jabari Adams, Molly Purvis and MacKenzie Purvis. She was preceded in death by her father, Garlan Calvert; mother, Enna Dyer Calvert Zimmerman; and two sisters, Tick Jackson and Dean Bright.
