CALLING:  12 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral HomeMEMORIAL DONATIONS: Lewy Body Dementia Association   Dorothy Lavon 'Bonnie' Pearson, 83, of Greensburg, formerly of Columbus, died at 9:15 a.m. March 8, 2018, at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg. Dorothy was born August 13, 1934, in Kurtz, Indiana, the daughter of George and Goldie Roberson Ryan. She married Dorence D. Pearson December 19, 1953, and he preceded her in death on April 20, 2014. She was very active in the Moose Lodge for many years and loved dancing, singing karaoke, playing cards and being with her friends. Bonnie devoted most of her life to caring for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family immensely, especially her grandsons. She never met a stranger and loved helping people. Her big, beautiful personality shined light on all who knew her. She took great pride in her home, all her family and in living life to the fullest. She will be missed deeply but will live on in the hearts if Melissa, Dustin and Aaron for all eternity. Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Pearson Vardzik of Noblesville; sisters, Hazel McKinney of West Virginia and Lois McKinney of Seymour; grandchildren, Dustin J. King of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and Aaron L. King of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; a great-grandchild, Elliott King; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dorence; and three brothers and seven sisters.

  1. I remember her going for walks in the country with me and helping me through a tough time. I was 14 at the time. She was always there in my teen years when others who should have been weren’t.
