INURNMENT: A private inurnment will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood at a later date.James Edward Burns, 71, died at 11:29 a.m. February 22, 2018, at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born August 20, 1946, in Columbus, to Archie and Virginia Krume Burns. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and retired from Cummins Engine Company after 42 years of service. Calling will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. A private inurnment will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood at a later date. He is survived by his brother, Robert Burns of Columbus and nephews, Greg (Sheila) Burns of Columbus, Jeff (Misty) Burns of Nashville, and Tony (Shannon) Burns of Columbus. His parents, Archie Burns and Virgina McConn, preceded him in death.
