FUNERAL: The funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Jones officiating. VISITATION: 4 p.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. BURIAL: A private family inurnment will be Friday at Garland Brook Cemetery with military honors presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Sebert Lonza McAnelly, 77, of Columbus, died January 28, 2018, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Sebert was born October 31, 1940, in Liberty, Kentucky, the son of Elbert Lee and Pauline Elizabeth Barton McAnelly White. He married Pauletta Jane Corley and she preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Marine veteran and retired from Cummins after 30 years of service. Sebert enjoyed bowling, playing golf and riding motorcycles. Calling will be from 4 p.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. A private family inurnment will be Friday at Garland Brook Cemetery with military honors presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Survivors include his former wife, Vivian Franks of Seymour; daughters, Michelle (Patrick) Meyers of Jacksonville, Florida, Kim Smith of Columbus, Kathy (Ken) Lockwood of North Carolina, Melissa (John) Guinn of Seymour and Crystal (George) Gay of Uniontown, Indiana; stepdaughter, Terri Grant of Columbus; brothers, Jack McAnelly of Lynchburg, Virginia, Bob (Roberta) McAnelly of Columbus and Bill (Pam) McAnelly of Columbus; sisters, Dorothy Baker of Columbus, Joann Cook of North Vernon and Brenda Ward of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; and 14 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, along with a brother, Pete McAnelly.






I can’t be with you all in your time of loss, but our prayers are with you and the family.
My thoughts and prayers to all of you. He was a good man -always making us laugh. He will be missed.
