She was born on August 17, 1933, in Columbus, IN, to H. Harold and Beulah (Blocher) Bradley. She married Richard D. Scalf on March 6, 1971. Joyce was retired from Sears and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a 60-year member of Beta Sigma Phi, Alpha Nu Master chapter and served in all its offices. She also volunteered at the Columbus Visitors Center as a tour guide and at the Senior Center. The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Calling will be from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Thursday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at Springer Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home. Joyce is survived by stepchildren, Richard D. “Rick” (Priscilla) Scalf, Jr. of Columbus, IN, and Michael E. Scalf of Houston, TX and Laura K. (Dan) Klepper of Franklin, TN; brother, Donald “Max” (Dianne) Bradley of Columbus, IN; step-grandchildren, Richard “Rick” (Alisha) Scalf, III of Columbus, IN, Virginia A. “Ginger” Scalf of Iowa, and Erica M. Scalf of Amarillo, TX; step-great-grandson, Jackson D. Scalf of Columbus, IN; nephews, Mark (Tina) Bradley of Tucson, AZ, Scott (Adonna) Bradley of Columbus, IN, David (Patrice) Bradley of Indianapolis, IN, Joseph Bradley of Columbus, IN; cousins, Connie (Robert) Wilson, Charles “Butch” (Rae) Brougher and Stephen Bradley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Scalf on December 7, 2012 and her parents; aunt, Helen Brougher; and uncle, Morris Bradley.
