Robert W. Reeves, 78, of Columbus, died at 2:10 p.m. March 23, 2017, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.Bob was born September 16, 1938, in Columbus, the son of Wayne and Elizabeth Pittman Reeves. He married Alice M. Critney on December 27, 1956, and she preceded him in death February 22, 2017.He was active in the family’s business, Wayne’s Auto Electric. He was the pastor at Corner Stone Baptist Church in Garden City. His family and faith were the most important things in his life.The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Caplinger officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.Memorials may be made to Corner Stone Baptist Church in Garden City through the funeral home.Survivors include his sons, Robert W. Reeves Jr. and Donald L. Reeves, both of Columbus; daughters, Terrie L. (Ernie) Reed of Nashville, Shelia A. (Tim) Woods of Batesville, Mary A. (James) Hutson of Columbus and Sarah M. (Dale) Lucas of Columbus; brother, Richard L. Reeves of Columbus; sister, Wanda Boblitt of Kentucky; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; three brothers; and one sister.

  1. Bob was a close family friend of mine and even married my wife and I. Bob was one of the best men I’ve met in my life. He lived by his morals and values. Not many people do that! He will be greatly missed.

  3. I will miss you but I know where you are & I’ll see you again. I thank God for you. You led me to Christ , no better friend on this earth than that. You cared about my soul . you cared about everyones soul. You were the most sincere man I ever knew. RIP Pastor Bob, I love you always .

  4. Jerry, Krystil, and I want to express our sympathy to the whole family and the church on the loss of a gentle kind man. I will let my mother, Jeanette Phillips, know of his passing and I am sure she will mourn the loss also. May he rest in Jesus’s arms with Alice by his side!
