Scott K. Schuette, 36, of Hartsville, died on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at his home. He was born August 13, 1980, in Columbus, IN, to Roger and Julie (Whittington) Schuette. He is survived by his fiancée, Kelli Diekhoff. Scott graduated from Columbus East High School and was previously employed at Garland Brook Cemetery and had farmed the last 13 years. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #741. He and his daughter, Emma, attended father-daughter dances and he built “Emma’s Restaurant” by the creek on the farm. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors and water activities at the lake house with family and friends. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Marcus Speer officiating. Calling will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Scott K. Schuette for the Kevin and Emma Schuette Education Fund, payable to Kelli Diekhoff through the funeral home. Scott is survived by his parents; fiancée, Kelli Diekhoff; a son, Kevin Schuette of Hartsville, IN; and a daughter, Emma Schuette of Hartsville, IN; brothers, Rodney (Jenny) Schuette of Columbus, IN; and Chad Schuette of Columbus, IN; grandfather, Charles “Red” Whittington; nieces and nephews, Charlie, Caitlin, Grace and Abram Schuette; his fiancée’s parents, Lawrence Diekhoff and Linda Diekhoff both of Columbus, IN; fiancée’s sister, Lisa (Andy) Siener; and his fiancée’s nieces and nephews, Morgan, Kamari, and Nick Siener. Scott was preceded in death by grandparents, Glenna Whittington and E. Louis and Norma Jean Schuette and niece, Anna Mae Schuette.

Dear Schuette Family, Scott and I were in SRC Farmers Jr. & Sr. together. There wasn’t a moment that went by that Scott didn’t make someone laugh. He was a great person and will be missed greatly in that community. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.
