Petro, 72, of East 25th Street, died at 11:45 a.m. September 20, 2016, at Hickory Creek at Columbus. Carol was born April 19, 1944, in Columbus, the daughter of Everett and Mable Legan Bense. She married Floyd Richard Petro October 9, 1966. He preceded her in death September 20, 2014. Carol was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and had been employed at Columbus Coal Inc. for 15 years. She was a 30 year member of Bartholomew County Extension Homemakers Club and a 10 year member of 4-H. Survivors include her daughter, Lori Ann (Kenneth) Pardue of Hope; brothers, Jim (Pat) Bense and David Bense, both of Hope; and grandchildren, Kendra Jean Pardue and Tommy Ray Pardue. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd; and a sister, Kathleen Ann Bense.
