FUNERAL: Will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jonesville with the Pastor Ed Keinath officiating. VISITATION: Will be from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesdayat the church. Clayton Fincher Quillen, 83, of Jonesville Road, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016, at Silver Oaks Health Campus. He was born Sept. 23, 1932, in Spruce Pine, Alabama, the son of Tommy and Lolie Lee Thompson Quillen. Clayton married Betty Niemoeller on June 10, 1955. She preceded him in death on Jan. 28, 2004. Throughout his life, Clayton worked over four decades for Cosco (now known as Dorel). He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Germany. He was active in the American Legion, VFW, as well as previously served as Union Steward and President for Carpenter’s Union Local 1775. Clayton’s hobbies include gardening, and especially enjoyed going on vacation with his family. Clayton is survived by two daughters, Joan Quillen and June Hanson; grandchildren, Clayton, Joanie, and John Hanson all of Columbus, Indiana, and Elizabeth Blackburn; as well as a great‐grandson, Jeffrey Blackburn of Casa Grande, Arizona; three brothers, Charlie, Raymond and Frank Quillen; and one sister, Polly Quillen. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Calvin, T.M. and John Quillen; and a sister, Annie Morrow.
