Sophia D. Critney, 61, of Cambridge Square, died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016, at her home. Sophia was born October 10, 1954, in Letcher County, Kentucky, the daughter of Joseph and Hettie Shell Childers Sr. She married Joseph A. Critney November 8, 1972. Survivors include her husband, Joseph; son, Michael (Lisa) Critney of Columbus; daughter, Brenda (Willie) Ragan of Columbus; brothers, Junior Childers of Kentucky, Freddie Childers of Columbus and James Childers of Kentucky; sisters, Sylina Childers and Corrine (Phillip) Zabala, both of Kentucky; grandchildren, Ashley (Clarence) Grayson, Alexandria (Patrick) Froedge, Kirsten Ragan, Brendan Critney, Katelyn Critney, Brian Bland and Nicholas Prouse; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin Grayson, Emerson Grayson, Eleanor Froedge, Tyler Froedge, and one more expected in November. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Everett Childers, Homer Childers and Roy Childers.

Grandma we love and miss you so much. I wish I had a chance to hug you and tell you how much I love you. You will be forever loved and missed. You were a beautiful person and the best grandma that i could have every asked for. Richie loves you to. The boys love you and will always know how much you loved them. Give Emily a kiss from me and enjoy her until I can be there.
