Whipker, 91, of Midway Street, died at 10:37 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation. Ethel was born August 21, 1924 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Horace M. and Grace Schultz Spencer. Ethel graduated from Scipio High School as valedictorian, and Columbus Business College. She enjoyed playing the piano, violin and accordian, along with painting.  Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann (Stanley) Adkins of Zionsville; grandchildren, Jon (Anita) Knotts, Eric Bigham, April Knotts-Bailey and Donald Thoburn; great grandchildren, Neea (Jason) Butler, Skye Bailey, Austin Bailey, Maya Knotts and Dylan Knotts; and a great great grandson, Keaton Butler. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Louise Marie Whipker Simmons; a sister, Marie Elizabeth Mumford; and brothers, Donold Spencer and Horace M. Spencer Jr. Ethel was also preceded in death by Herschel Whipker.
