Due to immediate family health complications, the Celebration of Life gathering for Justin Lee Anderson will be postponed from Monday, May 18 to Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral home MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: May be made to Colorado Fourteeners Initiative through the funeral home. Contributions will be going to the very thing that kept Justin's heart and happy and full, the highest peaks of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Donations will help build and maintain sustainable hiking routes on the Fourteeners, stabilize and restore trampled and eroded areas, and educate hikers about Leave No Trace principles. Justin Lee Anderson, 34, of Lakewood, CO, formerly of Columbus, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015, at his home in Lakewood. Born September 22, 1980, in Columbus, he was the son of Jim and Kim (Howe) Anderson. Justin graduated from Columbus North High School in 1999. He attended IUPUC in Columbus and The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale. Justin worked at Push Pedal Pull delivering home fitness equipment. He previously worked at Signature Flight Services in Denver and prior in Ft. Lauderdale. Justin had a great passion for hiking and climbing the Fourteeners in the Rocky Mountains. He was an avid snowboarder and loved mountain biking. He also enjoyed kickball, fitness, working out/P90X, football, and basketball. Justin was an excellent photographer and artist and also played the guitar. Survivors include both parents, Jim and Kim Anderson of Columbus; siblings, Travis (Ashley) Anderson of Columbus and Kara Anderson of Phoenix; grandparents, Marquitta Howe & Robert (Rita) Anderson both of Columbus; uncles, Kyle (Sherri Fowler) Howe and Kip (Kelle) Howe of Seymour; aunts, Karla Dahn of Urbana, IL, Cathy (Junior) Clubb of Columbus and Christie Dan) Baugues of Ellettsville; cousins, Dylan and Olivia Howe, Bryan Dahn, Jonathon Couch, Jennifer Holtman, Bobbie Jo Coers, Beth Stannick and Matt Gates; and his best buddy, an Australian shepherd named, "Odin". He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald Howe; his grandmother, Nona Anderson; and an uncle, Tom Dahn.






I send my sincere sympathy and prayers to all of you. May Justin rest in peace. You are in my prayers.
Jimmy and Kim: Clarlene just now told me about this. I am so sorry for this all happening.Can remember him when Nona was in the hospital being there and we laughed about some lilacs i had taken her. My heart goes out to everyone who was part of Justin’s life! He loved Colorado and did the things he loved. So many of us are not that brave. But Justin DID it! So many memories of him, Travis & Kara as kids. Babysitting for them a lot 🙂 And had the privilege to be his Aunt for many years. Your light shined SO bright and was taken away too soon.
