FUNERAL: A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. VISITATION: 11:00 a.m. until service time Saturday. Thomas E. Childers Sr., 57, of Hope, died at 8:52 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Thomas was born March 21, 1957, in Greensburg, the son of Cloe W. and Syble (Gribbons) Childers. He was an avid bicycle rider and dearly loved his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his son, Thomas E. Childers Jr. of Columbus; daughters, Amanda (Derek) Green and Nicole Childers, both of Columbus; brothers, Danny Childers, Larry George Childers, Michael Childers, David Childers, Albert Childers and Cloe Webster Childers Jr.; sister, Ann Hughes; and grandchildren, Alexia Nease, Abriel Nease, Alexander Loyd, Brooklyn Childers and Lillian Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Steven Robert Childers and Leroy Childers; a sister, Lena Pearl Bragg; and an uncle, Hoyt Edward Childers.

  3. I have known Tommy all my life he was a good man he was an uncle to me he’s home with a lot of good people including my mother Janet Smith they were pretty close going to miss him so sorry for your loss love always Tammy Sue

  7. Sorry folks, but when I was a classmate at OLG grade school (12 years old), Tom made my life a living hell. I was bullied relentlessly to the point where I was scared to go to school. It went on for 2 years. May he NOT rest in peace, as the bully now becomes the bullied when death becomes the great equalizer, and Justice is served.!!!!
