MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Love Chapel or Mission Resource International. Jesse Edgar Bush, 85, of River Road, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Four Seasons Retirement Center. Jesse was born August 20, 1929 in Shelby County, Indiana, the son of Wade Alvin and Emma Nugent Bush. He married Dorothy McMillan January 8, 1949. Jesse was employed as a machinist at Cummins Engine Company, retiring in 1994 after 49 years of service. Jesse volunteered at Hilltop Christian Camp. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting. Jesse also enjoyed bowling, photography and camping along with building and flying model airplanes when he was younger. Survivors include his daughters, Sherry (Kenneth) Howell of Delta, Colorado and Kimberly (Paul) Hoffman of Columbus; grandchildren, Dana Cooper, Michele Butler, Christina Dishaw, Mark Bush, JC Bush, Matt Bush, Sarah Akemon, Rachel Akemon; Kirsten Hoffman, Jaclyn Hoffman and Emily Hoffman; and great-grandchildren, Devan Ruble, Logan Cooper, Emily Butler, Aaron Cooper-Valdez, Micah Cooper-Sponsellor, Logan Bush, Amelia Bush, Corbin Bush, Michael Bush, Alexander Bush, Dakota Bush, Ethan Bush and Jaylin Ballard. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; a son, Michael Edgar Bush; brothers, Pete and Morris Bush; and a sister, Mary Thompson.

  1. I would drive by Jesse’s house to and from work. I first met him because he flew the Israeli flag along with the US flag. That really touched me. Initially, I stopped by to let him know how much I appreciated that.
