Anna was born March 1, 1927 in Jennings County, the daughter of Charles and Bessie Smith and sister to eleven brothers and sisters. Margaret (often nicknamed "Muggs") graduated from Jennings County High School in 1945. She lived in Columbus since 1946 (68 years) and was a resident of Parkside Assisted Living and Keepsake Village during the past 4 years. Anna was previously employed at Arvins Industries, working on the line building sample radios and televisions. She had also worked at Hills Department Store for 23 years and in the cafeteria at several schools, including Central Junior High. She married Albert Lee "Jim" McKee November 14,1948 who preceded her in death in 1983. They had two sons, Ronald James McKee who died in 2002, and Darryl Lynn McKee of Englewood, Florida. She is survived by two sisters, Edna Pearl Beck of West Harrison, Indiana, Ellender (Dale) Maschino of Englewood, Florida, and a brother, Kenneth (Debra) Smith of Killeen, Texas. Her niece and care-giver Theresa (Maschino) Anderson also survives along with many additional nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was a member and officer of that DAR Chapter for many years. Anna was also a member of the D.A.C. (Daughter of the Colonists) and the Genealogy Society, both in Englewood, Florida. She also enjoyed being a part of the local "Merri-makers" homemakers extension club for many years and she was a charter member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Children were especially drawn to Margaret and she loved being with them, playing silly games and showering them with affection. She was extremely loving and cared deeply about the safety and well-being of others. Her hobbies included crafts, flower arranging, table games, cards, camping, and reading. Pall bearers will be nephews, Dale Maschino II, Kenneth Maschino, John Young; great-nephews James Spratt, Christopher Holloway, and William Lane.
