MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Leo Conrad, 96, of Columbus, IN, passed away at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday December 24, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Leo was born November 19, 1918, in Johnson County, to the late Jacob and Emma (Mullis) Conrad. He married Anna Mae Rush December 27, 1947, and she preceded him in death on October 17, 2004. Leo worked at Moonies Tannery until it closed in 1961 and then worked for Reeves Pulley where he retired in 1980. Leo enjoyed gardening, camping at Versailles State Park and playing horse shoes with his brothers. He and Anna Mae wintered in Arcadia Florida for several years. Leo was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II where he served in New Guinea and the Philippines. Leo is survived by a son, Steven Lee (Paula) Conrad of Columbus; a daughter, Barbara (Jim) Puckett of Columbus; and a brother, Roscoe Conrad of Columbus. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Joshua (Heather) Conrad, Jacob (Shelly) Conrad, Jana (Gregory) Noel and Kelly (Gregory) Shatto; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Leo was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two great-great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters.






Saddened with the news of the passing of Uncle Leo. He was such a character … He will be truly missed.
My deepest sympathies at this time sorrowful time. I used to live down the road from Leo. I remember he often stopped in and talked with my dad. In the summer he never stopped in that he was not carrying something he had grown in his garden. He always had a smile and a wave. That will be greatly missed!
Leo was one of a kind.
