Janet was born April 9, 1936 in Bartholomew County, the daughter of Herod C. and Helen E. Rathsman Barr. Janet graduated from Columbus High School in 1954, Norton Memorial School of Nursing in 1957 and attended University of Louisville. Janet was employed at Columbus Regional Hospital as an R.N. for 32 years. After her retirement, she worked at Behavioral Health Care for nine years. Janet was also a member of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include her son, Herman Trilling of Elizabethtown; daughter, Ursula (Terry Johnson) Cartwright of Columbus; brother, Herod Barr, Jr. of Greensburg; grandchildren, Kimberly Crew, Carl Trilling, Rachel Cartwright, Kirstin (William) Biggs, Robert Cartwright and Alex Trilling; and three great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gerhard Otto "Gary" Trilling; and an infant son and infant daughter.
