I had a strong cry last evening when I learned that Alice had passed. She was a beautiful woman that I am thankful to have had in my life; I sincerely miss her. My cry was a selfish one, however. Alice was a Godly woman and I’m confident she was welcomed at the gates of Heaven by her Savior: “Well done good and faithful servant”. Alice loved unwaveringly. She saw the good in everyone; I never heard a harsh or degrading word from her. She set an example for every young woman in her presence. She made her place on this earth a better place to be.
I was sad to hear my former 4th. grade – 8th Grade Sunday School Teacher at East Columbus Christian Church in Columbus, Indiana Alice Matlock has died. All my best wishes and prayers to all of her real close friends and family. But take heart as a Christian she is now in heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and those other millions of those like her who know and have accepted Jesus Christ and has taken the gift of eternal life that only God has provided through the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. During her time I have seen Alice plant many a seed and I know of and have seen only a small part of the many fruits of her loving labor for our lord.
I offer my sincere condolences to the family and wish them comfort in God’s grace.
My heart goes out to Alice’s family and Especially Ray. Alice was a good friend for many years and will be missed greatly. As she told me many times. the good Lord has a special place for those that believe in Him.
