Born in Westphalia Indiana in 1930, Don was the fifth child born to Fredrick Henry and Selma Marie (Heidenreich) Linneweber. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents are brother Robert Linneweber, sisters Alma Ruth (Paul) Lueking, Dorothy (Edgar) Green, and Mary Francis (Ray) Frye, and step-grandson Matthew Anderson. Survivors include his wife Margaret Ann (McArthur) Linneweber, son Tom (Martha Hathaway) Linneweber, Georgia, daughter Cathy (Ben) Hall, Tennessee, grandchildren Ryan (Lyndsey) Linneweber, Columbus, Greg (Jessica) Linneweber, Noblesville, step grandchildren John Anderson, Carly Anderson and Scott Anderson, and great grandsons Kai Linneweber, Cooper Linneweber, and Shepard Linneweber. Married on July 28, 1951 in Bicknell, Indiana, Don and Margaret Ann celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary this year. They were avid Indy race enthusiasts. Having attended 65 Indy 500 races, Don was recognized by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as one of the top 33 Indy 500 race fans. He and Margaret enjoyed their winters on Longboat Key, Florida, boating, fishing, and the sand and sunshine. Don served in the US Air Force at Luke Air Force base in Arizona and Germany. He retired from Arvin Industries. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Columbus, was a lifetime member of the B. P. O. E. in Bicknell, Indiana and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Police. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Salem United Church of Christ in Westphalia, Indiana. Family and friends may visit from 1:00 PM until service time.
