SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. OFFICIATING: Mike Radcliff MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Our Hospice of South Central Indiana FINAL RESTING PLACE: Garland Brook Cemetery This world was blessed with a baby angel on October 9, 1932 in Whitleyville, Tennessee. Her parents, Herman and Ader Trobaugh Lancaster, named her Opal Jane Lancaster. On September 7, 2014, at 4:38 p.m., the Lord called his beautiful angel to the kingdom of Heaven. Opal died peacefully at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, with her family by her side. Opal married Fred Shatto August 21, 1953, and they spent 61 beautiful years together. Opal was a member of the Church of Christ and had retired from Arvin. She enjoyed gardening, just to be able to share her produce with family and friends. She enjoyed her flower gardens with a passion. Opal was loving, caring and devoted to her family and friends. Her kind heart was as huge as this world and she will be missed immensely. Survivors include her loving husband, Fred Shatto; three loving children, Gary Shatto of Elizabethtown, Linda (Fred) Robertson of Columbus, and Larry Shatto, who is deceased; sisters, Rosie Hance of Brown County and Arlene Graham of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Keri Scudder, Jessica Shatto, Jamie Shatto, Krista Shatto, Jonathan Robertson and Caitlin Robertson; great-grandchildren, Tyler Shatto, Justin Smith, Katelyn Smith, Macey Bennett, Samuel Bennett, Jak Shatto, Kate Lynn Shatto, Sydni Burton, Kamron Robertson and Collin Robertson; and great-great-grandchildren, Oliver and Olivia Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Ader Lancaster; brothers, Omas and Floyd Lancaster; and sisters, Versie Wilson, Elmie Cross and Bertha Lancaster.
