Nola Adkins

SERVICES: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home OFFICIATING CLERGY: Bishop Brian Busselburg VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 5, at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service Saturday. FINAL RESTING PLACE: Garland Brook Cemetery. Nola Breeding Carroll Adkins, 90, of Poplar Drive, died at 1:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at her home. Nola was born November 10, 1923, in Ison, Kentucky, the daughter of George W. and Clarenda Hall Breeding. She married Clarence Carroll October 21, 1941. Clarence passed away with Lou Gehrig's Disease December 22, 1963. They had three children, Claudette (Bill Jack) Moore, Jimmy G. (Patty) Carroll and Glenda (Alick) Patton. Claudette died in a car accident in 1979 and Jimmy died in 1996 after a kidney transplant. Nola later married Tramble Adkins. Tramble had three children, Denver, Jimmy and Charlotte. They all survive. Tramble and Nola were happy and enjoyed life. Tramble died suddenly in 2005 in Lexington, Kentucky. Nola had ten grandchildren, Carlyn (Mike) Cox, Kimberly (Scott) Malsom, Jodie Coomer and Alex Shawn Patton, Lisa (Terry) Chaffins, Clarence Carroll, Jamie (Michael) Crum, Cody (Amber) Carroll, Jackie Moore and Carl Glen Moore. Jackie died in 2010 and Jamie Glen died in 2011. Nola had 12 great-grandchildren, Sidney Cox, Brenton Cox, Cody Garvey, Cyle Olesky, Alec Coomer, Claudia Crumb, Kirsten Carroll, Emma Malson, Taylor Malsom, Paisley, Boston and Chloe Carroll. She also has five great-great-grandchildren, Reyce and Westyn Garvey, Brooklyn Nicklas, Mia and Logan Olesky. She also had several brothers and sisters who have all passed away. She loved each of them. Nola loved to read her Bible and going to church. She also loved sitting on her porch talking to friends, quilting and working in her garden.
