Stop 11 Road Indianapolis, IN 46237 George Joseph Roberts, 83, of Columbus, died at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Huntsville, Alabama. George was born March 8, 1931 in Bloomington, Indiana, the son of Joseph and Bernice Storm Roberts. He married Joanna Eavey August 19, 1956. George was a veteran of the United states Air Force, having served as an aircraft mechanic and electrician. He also served in the Indiana National Guard. George retired from Cummins Engine Company after 38 years of service. He was a licensed pilot for over 20 years and a member of East Columbus United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughter, Rachelle (Kirk) Miller of Hartselle, AL; sisters-in-law, Sarah (Jerry) Robertson of Nobelsville and Norma Eavey of Jasonville,IN; and grandchildren, Wyatt and Indie Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Joanna on May 9, 2010; brother, Tom Roberts; brother-in-law, Bob Eavey; and an infant sister.
